At Tales of the Cocktail 2022, renowned rum and cocktail experts David Wondrich and Jeff “Beachbum” Berry appeared alongside Maison Ferrand / Plantation owner Alexandre Gabriel to share stories of their previous collaborations. Hosted by Manuela Savona, the TOTC 20th Anniversary Capsule Collection event featured the origin stories of several Ferrand/Plantation products that made their public debut at Tales of the Cocktail, including 1840 Cognac, Dry Curacao, and Stiggins’ Fancy rum.
With a fortunate front-row seat, I captured key moments on video and shared them on my Cocktail Wonk YouTube Channel. Each is between two and six minutes and gets right to the point.

Stiggins’ Fancy Pineapple Rum
Dry Curaçao Yuzu Late Harvest
Naturally, Ferrand took the opportunity to announce yet another product, Dry Curaçao Yuzu Late Harvest. It’s similar in packaging to the mainstay Dry Curaçao. However, everyone who’s tasted it (myself included) says it is noticeably different than its predecessor while still firmly in the Curaçao camp. It’s a limited edition for now; just 900 bottles made and given away or sold in New Orleans. But if history is any guide, and given sufficient interest, it might appear on store shelves in the future.
