The word is out that our second book, Modern Caribbean Rum, is finally available! At 850 pages and eight pounds, it’s a beast of a book! In days past, I would have shared the news here on Cocktail Wonk first. However, there’s yet more news to share.
The Cocktail Wonk site has had a quasi-split personality for many years now. Lots of readers (the majority, to be honest) visit for tiki drink content, while others have enjoyed the copious rum articles. While these two topics have some overlap — rum is the backbone of most tiki drinks — I’ve long found it a bit weird to point rum experts and professionals to a site called Cocktail Wonk.
With the release of Modern Caribbean Rum, and other things in the hopper, I’m splitting my personal writing between two locations to better serve their respective audiences. Never fear, everything posted here will remain here, and topics that overlap rum and tiki will be cross shared to both locations.
With that preface, I’ve started my own Substack: Rum Wonk. It’s free to subscribe and all content is free for all to read for the immediate future. By the way, there’s also a Rum Wonk Instagram and Rum Wonk Twitter Feed as well!
